Connekz Privacy Policy

Connekz is committed to protecting your privacy while delivering powerful AI that learns and adapts to help you. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it (including for training our models), who we share it with, and your rights. By using Connekz Assistant, Call Assistant, developer Instances, or any related service, you agree to the practices described here.

We operate under New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020 and take transparency seriously — especially because our AI learns directly from user data to improve over time.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account Information: First name, last name, email address, phone number (optional), business website (optional).
  • Conversation & Interaction Data: All chats, prompts, voice inputs, outputs, and memories built by Connekz Assistant.
  • Call Assistant Data: Call recordings, transcripts, summaries, metadata (when you use the feature).
  • API / Developer Data: Prompts, outputs, and usage from Connekz Instances.
  • Integration Data: Email and calendar data accessed via Nylas (if you connect your accounts).
  • Technical & Usage Data: IP address, device info, browser, usage patterns (via Google Analytics), payment details (processed by Stripe).
  • Other: Any personal information you voluntarily include in prompts or integrations.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to provide, personalise, and continuously improve Connekz:

  • Authenticate accounts, deliver services, and personalise your experience.
  • Generate responses, memories, call handling, emails, tasks, and integrations.
  • Train and improve our AI models — this is core to Connekz. We use chats, voice inputs, call recordings, transcripts, summaries, memories, and API prompts/outputs to train, fine-tune, and adapt our models so Connekz learns and becomes more helpful over time.
  • For developers/API users: Your inputs and outputs are used for your own Connekz instance for self-training and improvement but are not shared with or used to train other connekz models.
  • Process payments (Stripe), analyse usage (Google Analytics), and handle calls (Twilio, Deepgram), embeddings (OpenAI & xAI — only for processing, not their training), email/calendar (Nylas).

Important: We strongly recommend you do not include sensitive personal, health, financial, or confidential information in prompts, calls, or integrations. While we follow best practices, modern AI systems and third-party services cannot guarantee absolute security or perfect accuracy.

3. Sharing Your Information

We share data only as necessary:

  • With service providers: AWS & Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), OpenAI & xAI (embeddings), Twilio (calls), Deepgram (STT/TTS), Nylas (email/calendar), Google Analytics.
  • For legal reasons, safety, or business transfers.
  • We do not sell your data.

4. Data Retention

Chat conversations and memories are kept forever unless you delete them (or delete all AI Assistant data, which removes chats and memories). Call recordings, transcripts, and summaries are kept indefinitely (download available; deletion support coming soon). We retain data as long as needed to provide the service, comply with law, or improve our models.

5. Your Rights

You can access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal exceptions). Delete individual chats or all AI Assistant data via your account settings.

6. International Transfers & Security

Data is stored on AWS with multi-region replication (including outside New Zealand). We use industry-standard security but cannot guarantee against all risks. Use Connekz at your own risk, consistent with our Terms of Use.

7. Age Restriction

Connekz is for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.

8. Changes to this Policy

We may update this policy. Continued use after changes means you accept the new version.
